Originally developed in 1995 to aid ventilator weaning, the early version of the Pro2Fit device showed promise in improving respiratory function for patients with chronic conditions. However, its high cost limited adoption in healthcare systems. With 30% of the U.S. population affected by chronic respiratory conditions, startup Pro2Health saw an opportunity to bring this therapy to the masses by creating a more affordable, app-connected, and user-friendly version of the device. But turning a clinical prototype into a scalable, secure, and FDA-ready product required expertise they didn’t yet have.

Suntra MedTech Solutions partnered with Pro2Health to translate their vision into a commercially viable medical device. By analyzing the original product and its performance, Suntra developed an updated, ergonomic design that incorporated cost-effective components and modern Bluetooth connectivity, all while meeting stringent cybersecurity and regulatory standards.

The new Pro2Fit system enables patients to follow personalized, app-guided breathing exercises empowering them to take control of their respiratory health from home.

The Pro2Fit device was successfully launched and transferred to manufacturing, with over 1,500 units built and 1,000+ in use across 16 countries. Backed by multiple clinical studies, it has shown measurable improvement in patients with COPD, congestive heart failure, spinal injuries, asthma, and long-COVID often within just seven weeks of use.

Pro2Health has since secured new investment, established its first distribution partnership, and positioned Pro2Fit as a powerful new tool in the future of respiratory care.
